CalCaps for Backscatter & Fluorescence
The Kemtrak CalCap calibration kit is a convenient accessory designed for effortless and reliable normalization of the TC007 and FL007 analyzers equipped with backscatter and fluorescence probes.
CalCaps are solid-state, liquid-free calibration references that replicate known and traceable conditions when applied to the probe tip. Assure consistent, accurate, and reliable instrument readings. Eliminate variation or drift, allowing measurements taken at different time points or with different instruments to be directly compared and confidently interpreted.
Why normalize?
Normalization is the process of calibrating a measurement instrument to a recognized standard, ensuring that its readings are consistent, accurate, and reliable. It eliminates variation or drift, allowing measurements taken at different time points or with different instruments to be directly compared and confidently interpreted. CalCaps are the ideal tool for quality assurance and compliance with Process Analytical Technology (PAT) requirements.
Understanding Turbidity and the Kemtrak TC007
Turbidity is measured by the amount of scattered light caused by suspended solids in a sample. The Kemtrak TC007 turbidimeter is highly versatile, capable of measuring samples ranging from ultra-pure water to samples with high solid content, such as creams and other dense substances. Depending on your sample type and turbidity range, the TC007 offers three modes:
– Ratiometric Mode – Measures scattered light at 90°
– Attenuated Mode – Measures light that passes through the sample
– Backscatter Mode – Measures reflected light at 180°
CalCaps are used in Backscatter Mode where a Ø12 mm backscatter probe is employed.
This new liquid-free CalCap normalization process for the Kemtrak TC007 makes it easier than ever to ensure consistent, accurate turbidity readings globally. With calibration caps, you get a quick, straightforward, and safe method for maintaining accuracy without handling hazardous chemicals.
